Retention

Student retention is a critical challenge in many institutions, and it was the primary focus of our interest in the early days. A collaboration was initiated between technologists from Eireann Technology and a European higher education institution that faced significant student retention problems in specific programmes.

This collaboration resulted in the development of various software tools over several years that enabled the course coordinator of one of the most impacted programmes to increase the retention rate significantly. These tools provided indicators of high-risk students, identified triggers for specific students, and helped manage day-to-day interactions to ensure the course coordinator had the most useful and relevant information at hand.
